About Ramananda
Ramananda began his musical career as a child, lying underneath a grand piano, listening to his mother play. It is this quality of deep listening and surrender that has moved with him as he sang the music of Elvis and Bob Dylan, classical and pop, kirtan, mantras and devotional singing – to the present day where he has been blessed with the poetry of Jelaluddin Rumi, who has inspired the songs on his CD, Secret Language. “My first moment with Rumi was like being penetrated by stillness. So soft, so touching, I had to sing the words I had just read. All these songs happened in moments like that. The words to these songs are still working within me. In the space between concept and insight, something happens,
a spark”.
